FireSmart Recognized Neighbourhoods

Citizen involvement is the cornerstone of the FireSmart Canada Neighbourhood Recognition Program. Recognized neighbourhoods actively work together to decrease the risk of losing their homes and to protect each other in the event of a wildfire. Recognized neighbourhoods have a greater chance of surviving a wildfire without the intervention of the fire department.
